Hi all. I got a problem with ghostscript with some kind of error about fonts.
This is an example:
Code:
ale@heavensdoor ~/articolomalbor $ ps2pdf Articolo.ps
Error: /invalidfont in /findfont
Operand stack:
   240   Helvetica   ISOLatin1Encoding   Helvetica   Helvetica
Execution stack:
   %interp_exit   .runexec2   --nostringval--   --nostringval--   --nostringval--   2   %stopped_push   --nostringval--   --nostringval--   --nostringval--   false   1   %stopped_push   1862   1   3   %oparray_pop   1861   1   3   %oparray_pop   1845   1   3   %oparray_pop   1739   1   3   %oparray_pop   --nostringval--   %errorexec_pop   .runexec2   --nostringval--   --nostringval--   --nostringval--   2   %stopped_push   --nostringval--   --nostringval--   --nostringval--   1820   5   7   %oparray_pop
Dictionary stack:
   --dict:1159/1684(ro)(G)--   --dict:0/20(G)--   --dict:71/200(L)--   --dict:120/300(L)--   --dict:44/200(L)--   --dict:94/160(L)--   --dict:8/85(L)--
Current allocation mode is local
Last OS error: 2
Current file position is 339128
GPL Ghostscript 8.71: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1

Actually I have problems manipulating (visualizing too) any kind of ps or pdf document containing eps images. Basically evince, gv or other programs hangs up with the kind of error shown before.

Anyone can tell me what to to to solve this? Thanks.
I think I have all common fonts installed (except corefonts), also the problem arise even if I try to do those eps by myself (with matlab for example).

If Helvetica is not installed the ghostscript interpreter should replace it with Nimbus Sans. Ensure that media-fonts/gnu-gs-fonts-std is installed on your system.

gnu-gs-fonts-std is installed correctly, but the error still holds even if I try different fonts in the images. If I try to make an eps with liberation-sans fonts it's the same.

I tried check and even recompile single applications like ghostscript, fonts, evince etc... without results. In the end I got sick of this and I recompiled the whole system with emerge -e world. Now the problem is solved, but I don't know where it originated from.

My system is almost stable amd64 (with the exception of baselayout2 and openrc).

Code:
ale@heavensdoor ~ $ emerge --info
