Hi,

I am using Gentoo Embedded as a router, so there is no X or other gui at all on the device. I have a 3G modem plugged into it, specifically a ZTE-MF112 from '3' mobile broadband. I would like to know if there is a way I can log in to the router via ssh to run a program that will receive all text messages sent by '3'? Maybe even send some as well?

Thanks.

Sure, read the 3GPP TS 27.007 specification and start sending AT commands to your modem. (Hint: the first one is AT+CPIN=xxxx)
