The default value of QMAKE_CFLAGS_RELEASE set in the file /usr/share/qt4/mkspecs/common/g++.conf is empty. Is this intended or is it a bug? On Ubuntu it's set to "-O2", I also remember qmake adding many optimization flags (possibly taken from make.conf) when ran in release mode in the past.
