|
|
Pidgin was working but now the main Pidgin window does not display. I can see the pidgin process with 'ps'. I tried moving ~/.purple to ~/.purple-save and restarting pidgin but this does not work either. I am using the Enlightenment 16 (e16) window manager and cleared all it's caches and restarted pidgin ... still no main pidgin window.
(I do get the accounts window when pidgin starts and a login window but not the main window that lists your 'buddies').
After killing pidgin, moving ~/.purple and restarting pidgin I still get an account log-in window asking for a password. This means pidgin is storing information somewhere other than ~/.purple. Anyone know where?
Any ideas on getting the Pidgin main window back?

Do you have pidgin icon in tray? Click it and you should see the main window. |

There is nothing in the e16 Iconbox.
If pidgin thinks it should be an icon, I wonder if there is a signal to send the pidgin process to tell it to 'un-iconize'? |

The issue was that when I move ~/.purple, Pidgin found an old ~/.gaim folder and was converting that info. |

I removed an old ~/.gaim
I moved ~/.purple to ~/.purple-old
Started up pidgin. Saw the new Pidgin user message. Quit out of pidgin. Copied over the ~/.pidgin-old/accounts.xml and blist.xml to the new ~/.purple . (I also copied over the otr.* files)
Now pidgin is working well again. |
