Is there an icon viewer in portage? I don't need an icon editor, and I don't want something that depends on Gnomethanks or KDEd. Just something that can find and display all the icons in my system so I can do things like pick one out when building Fluxbox menus.

In what format are your icons stored (xpm, png, gif, svg, ico, bmp, ...)? Maybe one of these will work.

Most of them are PNGs.

I'm not looking for an image viewer. Rather, a utility that can locate icons specifically and display/filter them for me.

If a simple image viewer can do this via specific commands, that'd be cool. I just don't know offhand which viewer can do this.

I am sorry, but you make me confused.

Do you have some folders with icons, and you want to browse those icons? Or, do you have lots of random pictures, and want to somehow filter out those that are icons?

If it is the first case, any image viewer would do, I guess. In the latter case I find it unlikely there are any programs to suit your needs.

That's a good point. It's the first case. I could just open an image viewer and browse through /usr/share/pixmaps and such.

Should have thought of that earlier.

Brain freeze! :P

It would still be nice to have a simple icon viewer that scans hard drives for images that are icons: 48x48 and smaller, etc.
