I have a Tibook but am having a problem with my display in gentoo ( OS/X runs fine ), check out https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=83418 . Before I try another distro and or send my TiBook in for a "check-up", I am asking TiBook* owners to post or pm a copy of their .config file, XF86Config-4 file, and /var/log/XFree86.0 log please. What I would like to do with them is to clone your setup on to my TiBook, that way I will know if the problem is in the hardware or my setup. Thanks you.

(*gentoo partition is temporarily deleted... sorry!)
It sounds to me like you are using too-aggressive compiling optimizations.
Build xfree-*-r2 with moderate compiler flags.
You are the only person I've seen w/ TiBook XFree problems. |

Took my TiBook to an Apple Specialist today and they found a bad logic board! They told me OSX was able to mask the color problem that linux (gentoo, yellowdog, debian) was displaying.
Check this out, I had a copy of Gentoo gnome/livecd with me to demonstrate the problem I was having but now the guys are using it to load gentoo onto a G3 laptop. |
