Hi gurus,

I try to install Gentoo 1.4 and have a problem with my NIC
I use the LiveCD and Gentoo probes my hardware and find a 3Com 3c59x card. (I use a 3c905)

Sep 15 19:13:27 [/etc/hotplug/pci.agent] Setup 3c59x usb-uhci uhci for PCI slot

The installation seems to work. I can ping the world and ssh to and from the gentoo box. But...when I try to use emerge, wget or ftp the connection time-outs after a while. I can download a few bytes and then it fails.

I get a lot of RX errors if I do I ifconfig:

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:60:08:5C:24:5E
inet addr:213.200.149.136 Bcast:213.200.151.255 Mask:255.255.252.0
inet6 addr: fe80::260:8ff:fe5c:245e/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:137526 errors:12622 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:12809
TX packets:11073 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
RX bytes:8735331 (8.3 Mb) TX bytes:3262413 (3.1 Mb)
Interrupt:5 Base address:0xe400

How can I solve this?

TIA,
/David
