Hi.
I've upgraded seahorse, gnome-keyring and gnome-keyring-daemon to version 2.30. I think their behaviour has changed for now I'm required to type my private key again when I want to connect with SSH to a server that has my public key. When seahorse and gnome-keyring were at version, 2.28 I've never been prompted for my passphrase. Now I am.
I have absolutely no idea what I need to do. I am using Xfce4. I have checked and there is this process:
ps faux | grep ring: | /usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon --daemonize --login |
Finally when I run seahorse-daemon, I get this error:
seahorse-daemon: | ** (seahorse-daemon:6534): WARNING **: Could not load desktop file '/etc/xdg/autostart/seahorse-daemon.desktop': No such file or directory |
Indeed /etc/xdg/autostart/seahorse-daemon.desktop doesn't exist. But I have no clue what it should contain.
Here's the beginning of .xsession-errors, in the hope it's useful (at least I have no idea how to solve the errors it mentions):
.xsession-errors: | /etc/X11/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
which: no keychain in (/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/opt/bin:/usr/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/4.3.4:/opt/sancho:/usr/games/bin)
/etc/X11/gdm/Xsession: Setup done, will execute: /usr/bin/ssh-agent -- startxfce4
/usr/bin/startxfce4: X server already running on display :0
xrdb: "Xft.hinting" on line 9 overrides entry on line 6
xrdb: "Xft.hintstyle" on line 11 overrides entry on line 7 |
Thanks in advance for any hint/suggestion. _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

I've had the same problem for the last 3-4 months. But now most of these packages are no longer in portage, so the downgrade temporary fix is no longer viable.
Someone care to inform us about this? |

Ah, yes... I completely forgot this thread. The problem was fixed with >=Xfce 4.7 (4.7 is no longer in portage and was replaced with 4. . So now it works but you have to enable Gnome Services at logon IIRC. You no longer need to downgrade seahorse and gnome-keyring. There is a catch though as you must first uninstall gnome-keyring and reinstall the newer version for the latter has split key ring components in separate packages, which produce collisions with the older gnome-keyring. _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!...
