Ok, I've got the bootable CD using the i686 version. Once I boot with the cd, what stage should I begin with, using the Stage2 or stage3 step? Or should I begin with all 3 steps?
This is what got me confused!
Thnx. |

You read the documentation, right? It spells it out pretty plainly in there.

Can I add Gentoo to my Lilo.conf file instead of using Grub? I already have Slack 8.0 installed and would like to keep it setup the way it is for triple booting!
Or what about creating a boot floppy disk? Will I have that option during the beginning or I would need to make a boot disk after everything is done?
Thnx. |

Yes.

Creating a boot floppy is not a standard part of the default installation, but you should certainly be able to create one after the install is done.

|
|
I finally booted the stage 3 cd and began installing Gentoo. Everything seems to go as documented.
I created my root partition and swapped on my Slackware 8.0 swap partition. I reconfigured my kernel for my 1700 AMD XP system.
But I'm a little confused as to how do I use my current LILO file to add Gentoo to my triple boot setup? I tried adding Gentoo boot/root (/dev/hda5) info to Slack Lilo file but when I ran /sbin/lilo in Slack to update it, it didn't recognize hda5. Also I didn't create a /boot partition for Gentoo but installed it to the /root partition. Would that have anything to do with not being able to get to Gentoo? Should I copy the /boot/vmlinuz file to Slackware's /boot directory?
Any suggestions/ideas?
Thnx. |
