Anyone tried setting the CPU frequency using cpufreq in a P4 Mobile? I read somewhere that cpufreq P4 support wasn't ready yet but found a patch for it here:
http://function.linuxpower.ca/patches/patch-cpufreq-p4-1
Will try to use it as soon as i get home. |

How did this work out for you? I'm considering using the same patch ... |

I know of two ways to set the CPU frequency on mobile processors at runtime: the kernelpatches ( have a look at http://www.brodo.de/cpufreq/index.html ) and Marc Lehmann's userspace tool ( http://www.goof.com/pcg/marc/speedstep.html ).
Both don't work for me, but looking at the source i noticed that they seem only to work on 82801CA and 82801BA chipsets. An "lspci" should tell you if you have such a chipset.
