I have almost got my HP Scanjet 2400 working but not entirely.

I gets detected:

# scanimage -L
device `genesys:libusb:004:004' is a Hewlett Packard ScanJet 2400c flatbed scanner

When I launch skanlite, the window shows the name of my scanner "Hewlett Packard Scanjet 2400c", and a short buzz is heard from the scanner. I take that as my backend has some sort of contact with the scanner.

I press the "Scan" button, then the GUI tells me "Waiting for the scanner to start". After 5 seconds an error message appears: "Error during device I/O"

I can also say that the scanner actually started once, but the sound from the scanning process was harsher than I am normally used to and there was no image actually loaded after the scan process completed.
