Hi Guys,
I have a "BIG" problem with vi...My preferred editor!

Every time I try to use I get the follow error:
*** buffer overflow detected ***: vi - terminated
vi: buffer overflow attack in function <unknown> - terminated

I've opened a bug (https://bugs.gentoo.org/332595) too but no help from there!

If anybody has any idea on how can I track this problem I will be very grateful!

Thanks
Bye
Alex

Have you unmerged it and re-emerged it?

Actually what does your .vimrc look like? It almost sounds as though you have it automatically opening a file that's larger than the available memory.

Hi,
I've rebuild with:
CFLAGS="-march=athlon-tbird -O2 -ggdb" CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}" FEATURE="splitdebug" emerge app-editors/vim

And now vim works.

But I don't understand where was the problem!
