|

I've got a weird problem that i can't seem to find an answer for.
When I unplug the AC adapter, the computer suspends and won't come back until i have completely power cycled it (removed battery as well as the AC adapter). If I leave the AC adapter unplugged and boot the laptop just with the battery, it works just fine.
Also, this only happens when the X server is running.
Thanks for any advise you may have.

UPDATE: I checked out a bug post ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upower/+bug/481312 ), it was very insightful. Per the comments in that thread, I changed the options in Gnome Power Manager to "Blank Screen" when the lid is closed. Now when I unplug the AC adapter, the X server shuts down, and when I plug it back in, the X server starts back up. That's better then what it was, but still confusing.

I stopped acpid from starting in the default run-level. that did the trick.
I dunno. I guess you can't acpid running when you have window manager running and expect acpi to function correctly? I'll have to read up on it. |

I would venture to guess that you had a rule (unknowlingly) in place that when ac adapter is removed it triggered the suspend script. You can look under /etc/acpi/events and /etc/acpi/events ( I think at least I'm not on my laptop atm). Certainly, just removing acpid from default runlevel fixes this unless you would like to use acpi to do certain things like hibernate and suspend. _________________ Increasingly becoming a 2 channel audio nut! |
