I have a widescreen LCD that I want to use as portrait, not landscape. I wasn't able to buy a monitor that does this in hardware, (apparently they didn't sell well) so I need to do it in software. I use VNC between a remote server and a small local client for my desktop. The remote server is much more powerful, so I would like to have the CPU intensive rotation handled on the server side. Does anyone know if this is possible? I'm using tigerVNC.

I already know how to do it on the client, I'm interested in how to do it on the server.
