I'm trying to install Gnome 2 (emerge gnome) but the install fails on gdm. Here is the output:

Code:

!!! emerge aborting on  /usr/portage/gnome-base/gdm/gdm-2.4.0.2.ebuild .

I've looked in the other mirrors on the gentoo.org front page, but none of them seem to have the file (gdm-2.4.0.2.tar.bz2). Anyone know of a mirror that has it, or some other place I can download the file manually?

First post here, I'm new to gentoo (installed it yesterday)...

how old is your portage release? seems that the portage application is too old. 1.9.14 or so implemented the mirror:// scheme to support multiple downloads for a file, please make sure you run a fairly recent portage and try again.
