[LIRC] Question about remote controller config.

Greetings.
I've recently installed and configured LIRC to use my Audigy 2 ZS platinum remote controller. Lirc find my remote and I can use it through the kde lirc client, but I want to go further. I want to know if it's possible to configure my remote so that the buttons act as a keyboard multimedia keys.
I want to do this to set hotkeys directly inside the programs I want to control without using kde lirc interface or editing the lirc config file manually.
I've seen a way to make my remote buttons act like certain keys of my keyboard, but I don't want it.
I'm using LIRC 0.8.7 with livedrive_midi driver.
Can this be done?
