|
|
I added a ZOTAC Geoforce 210 card to an ASUS AMD motherboard.
Now I don't get any sound.
Code: |
I change options snd cards_limit=2 from 1 to 2
I added:
# Setup the card order cwc
alias snd-card-0 snd-vt82xx
options snd-vt82xx index=0
alias snd-card-1 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel index=1
per: this thread: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-849877-start-0.html
|
Code: |
more /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf
# Alsa kernel modules' configuration file.
# ALSA portion
alias char-major-116 snd
# OSS/Free portion
alias char-major-14 soundcore
##
## IMPORTANT:
## You need to customise this section for your specific sound card(s)
## and then run `update-modules' command.
## Read alsa-driver's INSTALL file in /usr/share/doc for more info.
##
## ALSA portion
## alias snd-card-0 snd-interwave
## alias snd-card-1 snd-ens1371
## OSS/Free portion

## alias sound-slot-1 snd-card-1
##
# Setup the card order cwc
alias snd-card-0 snd-vt82xx

alias snd-card-1 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel index=1

cwc,
Your defualt sound card, card 0, is now your nVidia card, so default sounds go to HDMI.
Does that work, even if its not what you intended ? _________________ Regards,

I'm not sure if the HDMI works I have no way to capture that output.
can I edit this file?

HDA NVidia at 0xfbe7c000 irq 24
1 [VT82xx ]: HDA-Intel - HDA VIA VT82xx
