Hi everyone,

I have issues with BCM4322 wifi card, integrated into the Dell Latitude E6500. I've been struggling with this for a long time, but still no luck :-(

I'm running current gentoo-sources (2.6.35-r12), and lspci prints this

Code:
0c:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4322 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller (rev 01)

and after emerging broadcom-sta (i.e. hybrid-portsrc-x86_32-v5.60.48.36.tar.gz from broadcom) I get this in dmesg

Code:
eth1: Broadcom BCM432b 802.11 Hybrid Wireless Controller 5.60.48.36

and the eth1 seems working (I can see it with "iwconfig eth1" - it's there, switching channels etc.).

Code:
eth1      IEEE 802.11abgn  ESSID:""  Nickname:""
          Mode:Managed  Frequency:2.412 GHz  Access Point: Not-Associated
          Bit Rate:16 Mb/s   Tx-Power:24 dBm
          Retry min limit:7   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:off
          Power Managementmode:All packets received
Link Quality=5/5  Signal level=0 dBm  Noise level=-94 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0  Rx invalid crypt:0  Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0

But once I try to scan for available networks, I get this:

Code:
eth1      Failed to read scan data : Invalid argument

I've tried to use various newer (vanilla) kernels, up to 2.6.37-r4, but either it did not work (with the same symptoms as above), or the driver did not complile (due to changes in the kernel).

What else should I try?

Hm, obviously the driver has some serious problems. I've found that sometimes the scan works, sometimes it fails. And the behavior is rather random ...

And obviously this problem is not specific to Gentoo, I've observed it in Ubuntu too.
