Up to now I still use Sunbird (-bin) for my calendar stuff, but as it left the tree I should look for an alternative, that is able to handle Google calendar connectivity, too. Although the latter is not a must, it would be nice to have. Additionally an address book integration would be fine, or a separate application. What do you use?

I initially wanted to add that I use (and maintain) Claws Mail, so maybe I have a look how usable Thunderbird is without the Mail module. At least there is a -bin version. But still I would like to know good applications, as a web search was quite unsuccessful. |

I've switched to thunderbird+lightning after development of sunbird stopped. It even handles microsoft office calendar invitations, so I can use it at work. It is as awfully slow as sunbird, but there are no real alternatives. korganizer would do but it has a lot of dependencies and I'm still waiting for a response to my bug report, so I just gave up on it. It is really sad that there are no decent standalone calendar apps with a modern user interface anymore. |

Thunderbird+Lightning work just fine. Thanks for your input, it shows me that there is no real good standalone calendar application out there. |
