I would like to install latest stable version of KDE (4.4) on my server, but without sound support. I don't need sound support at all on that system.
How do I do that? My guess is that I should do the following:
- disable ALSA and any sound-card related drivers from kernel and recompile the kernel
- add/remove some keywords to "make.conf"? (which ones?!)
I would really appreciate your help.
thanks in advance!

To extend that, actually I'd like to have as little as possible multimedia features.. (no sound players, movie players, no codecs support, no video/picture editing programs, etc).
Maybe there is a way to install KDE with a "minimal" configuration? Currently I have installed kde-meta with all dependencies.
Any hints would be appreciated! |

I think the server profile will keep those things away automatically. _________________ My blog |
