Is there some particular reason why I can merge only the stable mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20091026-r1, even with an entry in /etc/portage/package.keywords?
Code: | media-video/mplayer ~x86 |

What does it say if you try: Code: | emerge -pv =media-video/mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20101219 |

Interesting. It says:
Code: | rick # emerge -pv =media-video/mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20101219
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

and a subsequent merge without the -p switch correctly installs the 20101219 version. Even more oddly, the merge is documented as a reinstall, when it is really an update.
Thanks for the help. It would be fascinating to know if others have seen this strange behaviour. |
