Hey everyone,
I have an Nvidia 7600GS running on amd64 and I seem to have messed up my X server a bit.
I did a few little updates that night like bash completion and eventually rebooted to use a live cd to try and find out what kernel modules my bluetooth adapter needed. When I finished with the live CD my resolution had dropped to 640x480 and I can't figure out what's causing it.

I'm running xorg-server 1.9.2 with and have xorg-drivers compiled with USE="input_devices_evdev video_cards_nvidia" I'm also have nvidia-drivers compiled and I have the nvidia driver from Nvidia's site.

I've tried re-compiling xorg-server and xorg-drivers. I've also tried re-installing nvidia-drivers and the driver from Nvidia's site. I've also tried setting the opengl implementation to nvidia.

I'll post my Xorg log file and my xorg.conf (it was generated by the nvidia driver) file too.

Thanks for any help

nVidia driver tells your EDID data is messed up. Thus, it does not know what your monitor is capable of and defaults to a safe resolution. You need to specify desired resolution in xorg.conf.

Unrelated, but clean up input related sections anyway.

Make sure HorizSync and VertRefresh are correct for your monitor (perhaps use DisplaySize too)
and check the output of xrandr.

Okay, I'll look up how to do that.
What I'm confused by is it used to detect my monitor fine and use the proper resolution. I'd really like to get it back to that state if it's possible.
