I logged a bug with Untangle because their installer had problems determining the JAVA_HOME. See http://bugzilla.untangle.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6518

After six months of no activity, a bug handler paradoxically concluded:
Code:
More recent git-based build is working fine, following the instructions in the
developer wiki.

Installing this on gentoo is never going to work, though.

I've asked for further clarification as to his conclusion their product will never work on Gentoo.

Is there something about Gentoo that makes Gentoo unacceptable for certain software?

Am I missing a very fundamental principal about Gentoo's design that is so obvious it need to be cited?

(Me) installing this on gentoo is never going to work (for me), though.

translated it for you.

On a more serious note to answer your question: no.
