I'm almost done setting up my server, and the final steps are security. I'm not to linux and I'm new to gentoo. so I don't know much about security, infact, I don't know anything about security. I'm going to use the following ports:

21 ftp -pure-ftpd
22 ssh
8080 http -apache2
27015 hlds

my server is behind a linksys router which will provide minimal to no security, so how and what should I configure on my server regarding firewalls?

Sorry for the newby post, but I guess you gotta learn somewhere :)

Thanks

I'm not a security expert, but I would recommend looking over Securing & Optimizing Linux: The Ultimate Solution
http://www.tldp.org/LDP/solrhe/Securing-Optimizing-Linux-The-Ultimate-Solution-v2.0.pdf

as well as Gentoo's Security Guide.
