Immediately after logging in to an xfce4.8 session, one of my 2 cores goes to 100%. top shows the problem to be udisks-daemon, and killing it seems to have no ill effects. The problem is that to start up thunar I need to kill udisks-daemon too, before thunar will start. Weird thing is, this is only happening on my 32-bit laptop. Everything still seems to be fine on my amd64 desktop machine, and since the laptop syncs off the desktop, they are at the same version numbers.
I've googled around a bit, and supposedly this is a locale problem??? Recommendation include building thunar with USE="-gdu", but this is incompatible with USE="udev" for thunar, and anyway, as a far as I can tell all my locale settings are fine for utf8.
Anyone else have this problem? _________________ Adopt an unanswered post today |
