Hello guys.

Straight to the point, I tried to boot the Gentoo Linux Live DVD today. The boot hangs just at the point where Xserver starts and I am not getting a working desktop, all I get is a black screen. I then ALT + F2'ed to get a working terminal and I get a "No Screens found" error when I run "startx".

Where should I start to fix this, the Xorg.conf in the live DVD is empty. Also the Live DVD works properly in VMvare.

What kind of graphic card do you have?

i am not sure, but you can probably try to run X -config (or how the parametr is. I am not on linux machine now, so i cannot check it).

Nvidia Geforce 230m, mobile GPU

I can see that the Graphic card is detected fine in verbose mode.

lemme try to run X -config and get back to ya. :)

Thanks.
