When I booted the install CD (I used stage 1), it very nicely detected my ethernet nic built into my Soyo Dragon Plus motherboard, and I was able to install the rest of gentoo. But now that I boot my system, it does not detect any ethernet.
When I compilled my kernel, I selected 10 or 100 mbits ethernet to be built-in (not module), but my soyo ethernet driver was not a choice.
Is there a generic driver that will work with my on-board ethernet that I should select when I compile my kernel?
Is there a way I can find out what driver the install CD used, so I can use that?
I would really appreciate any help you could offer. Thanks. |

After you stick in your install CD and it recognizes your network, you can do "lsmod" to see which module it has loaded for network support. You can enable this in the kernel compile. |
