The "Newie" title is well deserved :)

Don't trash the guy, it occurs sometimes that some network problems may make those multiple posts appear. I've deleted all but one.

As a user of KDE since before 1.0, I have to ask:

"This is news?" :D

Just kidding. In 1.0 and before, manpages and info (IIRC) were available through the Help browser. This is cool too.

Indeed.. I've seen it since at least 2.0. Probably was around in kfm (before konqi existed) back in kde 1.2 too.

when I used kde a while back, #<manpage> is quicker than man:<manpage> ;)

Konqueror is amazing!
Try this:
Quote:

audiocd:/

!!!
You can just copy / paste to have an audio CD converted to mp3s or oggs.

Yea, that's a nice little feature.
You can just press Alt-F2 while somewhere in KDE and type #<manpage>.

I doubt that it was Mandrake specific, but I used to be able in mandrake type alt-F2 #command.

It would bring up info:/command if it existed, otherwise it would fallback to man:/command

Has this changed, or is it such an unknown feature that nobody knows.

Knew about this for a long time and it always worked without troubles... until recently.

Nowadays if I type something like man:ls in Konqueror, I always get a response like this...
Quote:
There is more than one matching man page.
    /usr/share/man/man1/ls.1.gz
    /usr/man/man1/ls.1.gz
    /usr/share/man/man1p/ls.1p.gz
    /usr/man/man1p/ls.1p.gz

The first two links lead to the same page (caused by the symlink /usr/man to /usr/share/man I think) and the last two lead to a similar (but not quite the same) page.

man on the command line doesn't do this, so why is this suddenly happening? And what the heck is ls.1p.gz?

Now is there some way to type qpkg: or something similer...lol..

Web-based portage control.... Would be cool, but i suppose it would open us up to a lot of exploits.
