|
|
I'm having trouble (and have been for a while) getting recent kernels to boot. I read something here that suggested to me it may be the bootloader built into Efika that's to blame - has the Linux kernel format changed since 2.6.28 in a way that could mean older bootloaders won't work with newer kernels?
When I boot up my Efika on 2.6.37 I get this:
Code: | <snip>
Applying EFIKA device tree fixups
Fixing bestcomm interrupts property
Adding Ethernet MDIO node
Adding Ethernet PHY node
copying OF device tree...
Building dt strings...
Building dt structure...
Device tree strings 0x01f5e000 -> 0x01f5e77f
Device tree struct 0x01f5f000 -> 0x01f61000
Calling quiesce...
returning from prom_init
<hangs indefinitely> |

I don't think the format has changed, people on the forums still mention running kernels that old and not having problems with grub. What kernel version does work for you? |

The latest kernel which I've found to work is 2.6.28. I don't have a record of which ones I've tried between then and .37, but I know I've attempted to run newer versions before now and hit the same problem. _________________ Ryzen 5600x; Asus TUF Gaming B550-Plus; Geforce 1660 Super
