Hi!
I've got this error trying to start chromium bin:
Code:
/opt/chromium.org/chrome: error while loading shared libraries: libevent-1.4.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I'm on ~x86
www-client/chromium-bin-9.0.597.84
I reemerged it but was for nothing.

#revdep-rebuild did not found any problems.
Well, I've just compiled chromium from sources (www-client/chromium-10.0.648.114) and it work but I'd prefer to use the binary version due to the compiling time.

Thank you for any help.

You'll have to wait until the binary version is released that links to the new version of libevent, or downgrade libevent.

If this is important to you, you can file a bug, so that they make the dependency more explicit.

Oh, thank you Etal!

I'll use the source version. It seems to work faster.
At least I don't have to go back to the "old" fox. I wanted to switch to Chromium since it was up on the market but every time I returned to Firefox because of chromium lack of usability compared to FF.
Even on the present version, Chromium has some lacks but it's better now. What I can say now is the FF facility to search as I type (without ctrl+f ), wich is a facility often used ..at least by me. ..maybe it is already present in Chromium and I don't know? :P

Somebody already opened a bug: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356609

But as Etal already said, with the binary version you're out of luck. Even though I don't understand why this lib isn't slotted.

PS: Nice paintings :-)
