I'm trying to get the TV out (S-Video) working on my S3 Twister equipped HP Pavilion zt1000. However, no luck. It seems gentoo's X ebuild builds the updated S3 driver, yet when I try to use "s3switch" utility to switch to TV out nothing happens. It does not list the TV as a "connected device".

Any ideas?

I've got an hp zt1175, with an s3 vid chip. I have gotten the video-out to sort of work. There is a version of s3switch that ignores what is plugged in and just forces tv-out. Check out:

Download the s3s.tgz utility. He says:

I also made a minor (but commonly requested) change to s3switch which forces it to assume that all possible devices (LCT, CRT, TV) are always connected. Only the BIOS on the Savage4 and Savage2000 is able to accurately determine which devices are actually attached. Changes described above.

I say 'sort of' working because the result looked like pretty bad. The screen was shifted, and not terribly clear. This could possibly be fixed, but I didn't put a lot of time into it.

Let us know how it goes!
