|
|
Hello,
I run raid 5 on my box, and recently had a disk failure. When I came to
raidhotadd /dev/md0 /dev/hde
I got the message
"/dev/md0: No such file or directory"
Likewise all my /dev/hd* are missing
however:
Code: |
cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [raid5] [multipath]
read_ahead 1024 sectors
md0 : active raid5 ide/host2/bus0/target0/lun0/part1[1] ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/part1[0]
77111808 blocks level 5, 64k chunk, algorithm 3 [3/2] [UU_]
unused devices: <none>
|
which is all right. Also at boot time the disks are all recognised correctly.
Code: |

When booting the devfs bit has double exclamation marks, which I suspect is causing the problem. I have deleted and recreated /dev/devfs.d to no avail. What do I do to find out more about this problem? |

I guess you already had a look, but maybe you can find some information in /var/log/* ? |

I did, nothing glaringly obvious relating to /dev
I think its time for me to try a fresh install perhaps? |
