Hello everyone,
As the topic says I have no sound with any kernel of the 2.6.38 version. I tried both 2.6.38 and 2.6.38-r1 but no lack. No issues with linux-2.6.37-gentoo by the way but same problems with linux-2.6.37-gentoo-r1.
I did not bother till now since i did not have any free time but I want to sort this out now. Sound card is recognized fine actually but alsaconf it returns a "No supported card Pnp or PCI card found".
Weird since the alsamixer reports my card properly as :
Card: HDA Intel
Chip: SigmaTel CXD9872AKD
I can see the control in alsamixer but no sound playback ... I should mention however that the control dont look all right, i.e. 2 headphone outputs,2 SPDIF
Any idea ?

| Did you forget to compile the driver for your soundcard into the kernel? |

Well then alsamixer would not find anything  all the /dev/ files are indeed there.
I should say that the intel hda driver is compiled as a module. |
