I'm having a heck of a time getting a kernel to boot on my new Sager laptop.
The livecd works fine, so in theory, there IS a configuration that works, right?
My kernel is giving the error 'hda: interrupt lost' over and over agian and it never boots. Eventually the computer just shuts off.
The first time I tried to set up the kernel it shut off more quickly, but I was trying to do bootsplash framebuffer stuff right away. I went back to a simple gentoo-sources kernel, with only my network card and chipset added, and the above error occurred.
Since the gentoo cd was working, I even tried copying /proc/config as my config file and compiling, but the same thing happened. I changed a few things I thought I KNEW I didn't need though, maybe I screwed up.
At this point I don't even remember what I have and have not tried.
If anyone has any ideas, let me know. |
