I have the dual usb Ibook....its early 2001 ibook....
I'm trying to set up x and its been a nightmare doing it
I look everywhere in the forum but couldnt fix the problem....
1. Which driver do I have to enable in the kernel?
2. Does the drm work with this ibook?
I tried all the drivers like radeon, mach 64, rage 128, and still gives me error saying "no screen found" and I used xeasyconf like some of the docs said....thanks in advance |

got the same book as you, in the kernel you should put ati rage support, that will give you the frame buffer.
are you seeing the penguin at boot? if not try adding:
append="video=aty128fb:vmode:17:cmode:32" to your yaboot.conf under the image= line
if you are seeing the penguin then your kernel is fine and you just need X to see it, if you want my XF86Config I can send it to you |
