Hello list. I'm looking for an mp3 tag editor (capable of editing id3 v2.0 tags) satisfying a couple of things

1) it should be based on taglib (as opposed to id3v2)
2) It should be either command line or gtk based, but not qt (I don't want to build the qt libraries on my gnome system).

Is there such a thing? I couldn't find anything on a quick google.

Thanks,

R.

that one depends on id3lib and libid3tag instead of taglib, but I guess given that taglib is written by a KDE guy, I shouldn't be surprised there aren't gtk editors using it, however, I am surprised there are no (that I could find) text based editors that use taglib. I guess I'll switch to easytag.

Thanks,

R,

EDIT: I just compiled easytag, it's just too large, it doesn't just open one file and when I run it on a folder with other mp3s in it, it runs some automatic corrections... this is perhaps the opposite of what I wanted, I'm looking for a really simple tag editor. I'll keep libid3tag and id3lib in my system and I'll look for a CLI to them or I'll just write one myself (since I really want something quite simple).

EDIT2: dumb me, now that I have those libraries here, I better use media-sound/id3v2 :)

EDIT3: dumber me, id3lib comes with a couple of binaries that do the trick.
