I wonder for what i would need divx4linux? Can i watch avi files with that? Divx capability seems to be allready present because i can save divx files with "zapping" (a gtk tv prog) but no package "divx4linux" is installed. So for what woudl i need to intsall the dix4linux package? How will i be able to watch avi? Will there really be just one divx engine or codec present on my partitions? What about packing divx5 w/o adverts? _________________ gentoo linux - amd duron stalebred 1600 - elsa gladiac 311 (nvidia) - elitegroup k7s5a (sis, lan) - 256mb ram - wintv pci fm - airstar2 dvb-t pci - ide cdwriter - hp psc 1110 |

Its the official divx codec from www.divx.com
Why you need it? Dont know, probably some program uses it to record avi's with.

For example you can have a mp3 audio stream and divx video stream or a vorbis audio stream and a xvid video stream. _________________ EASY TO INSTALL = Difficult to install, but instruction manual has pictures.
