I'm trying to get CDM working which depends on dialog but I can't get dialog working. Whenever I run the dialog command from that script I get the error: Code: | cannot open tty-output | and it returns -1 for an error.
I don't know if it matters but I'm using the radeon driver with KMS. The output of tty is /dev/tty1. After I start X I can run dialog just fine in a terminal. The thing that confuses me though is that I can run things like alsamixer and make menuconfig which I think use dialog as well without any issues. Any ideas what's going on? |

Nevermind, the problem seems to have magically disappeared. I think it may be related to now when I run something in /dev/tty1 like xdpyinfo -display :0.0 I actually get output. I don't know what changed. |
