when i try to emerge gnome, it says that bonobo-activation blocks libgnomeui, so i unmerge bonobo-activation. Then when libgnomeui is building i get
Code:
checking for libgnome-2.0 >= 2.0.0 libgnomecanvas-2.0 >= 2.0.0 libbonoboui-2.0 >= 2.0.0 gconf-2.0 >= 1.1.11 pango >= 1.1.2... Package bonobo-activation-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `bonobo-activation-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
Package 'bonobo-activation-2.0', required by 'libbonobo', not found

configure: error: Library requirements (libgnome-2.0 >= 2.0.0 libgnomecanvas-2.0 >= 2.0.0 libbonoboui-2.0 >= 2.0.0 gconf-2.0 >= 1.1.11 pango >= 1.1.2) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

!!! ERROR: gnome-base/libgnomeui-2.4.0.1 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 324, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed

What do i do? According to a search this question has apparently been answered, but the search failed to show where :(.

Don't know where the question is answered, but IIRC I got exactly the
same message when upgrading to gnome2.4

I just emerged libbonoboui and everything was fine. I also had to re-emerge mozilla because epiphany needs it.

Shouldn't emerge take care of those dependencies though? Do you
think this is worthy of bug status?
