Ciao a tutti.
Ho installato Gentoo da Stage 3...è possibile cambiare i parametri di /etc/make.conf (ottimizzando ancora di più la compilazione) e fare emerge -u world? secondo voi funziona o è sconsigliabile?

Ancora meglio se cambi il make.conf e poi dai un
Cosi' ricompili tutti i pacchetti perche' con emerge -u world compili solo
quelli da aggiornare.

Se ha installato da stage3 non credo abbia tutti i distfiles riguardanti i pacchetti del bootstrap e system...

Ti conviene fare un emerge -ep world e poi salvi la lista e vai da qualcuno che
ha una lineaa veloce.

Con emerge -ep world hai solo la lista degli ebuild che servono, se dai emerge -efp --deep world > lista.txt avrai in lista esattamente gli url dei files da scaricare (non tutti gli ebuild corrispondono ad un solo file oppure il file da scaricare ha nome diverso).
Occhio che probabilmente avrai delle entry duplicante.

| La stessa procedura può essere usata anche nel caso vengano aggiornati pacchetti del "bootstrap", come ad esempio il gcc? |

LukA4e: in linea teorica non lo dovresti fare ma... se vuoi puoi "inject"are il pacchetto...

Non ha senso. E' capitato pero' ultimamente che alcuni passando al
gcc 3.3.1-r2 che era bacato hanno dovuto ritornare a una versione piu'
vecchia e ricompilare tutto perche' il 3.3 aveva compilato alcuni pacchetti
che poi andavano in segfaut.
