how to setup X11 & gnome for vmware workstation gentoo guest

After two attempts I have successfully created a Gentoo guest under VMware Workstation 7.1.4 (I have not yet installed VMware tools....)

The Gentoo handbook was very helpful and got me to the working system.

What I am looking for is a how to guide so I can set up X11 and Gnome in my VMware guest and then I can try and get the vmware tools working.

Is there anyone out there that can point me to such a how to guide please??
