How does Shoutcast use ID3 data?

How do I get Shoutcast to extract the ID3 info from the MP3's in my playlist so that the media player I'm using shows the song title instead of the file name?

I'm sorry because I've never seen this thread.

What I understood is that shoutcast_trans don't use ID3 tags at all (despite the configuration directive UseID3).
It make use, instead, of filenames, that it interpreter as "author - title.mp3".
