|
|
Hi .. I really need help. There are my xorg.conf http://pastebin.com/99aEUxz2 and xorg.log.0 http://pastebin.com/Lp2Y3Z2s. After startx I had 205.396] (EE) NVIDIA: Failed to load module "dri2" (module does not exist, 0).
And here are my actions step-by-step:
1. Add Code: | VIDEO_CARDS="nvidia" | to make.conf
2. Compiled kernel without nvidia driver
3. ran
4. There were no nvidia-module after , so I ran Code: | emerge nvidia-drivers |
Please help me .... Really I haven't used linux for two weeks - it's very hard, I can't stand |

LP Fan,
Your log file shows that Xorg started normally. The nvidia driver does not use dri nor dri2, so those messages may be ignored.
I suspect Xorg started, found nothing to do then shut doen again.
What window manager have you installed ?
Did you do the test as describlen in the Xorg configuration document?
Run Code: | emerge twm xterm xclock -1 | then try startx again. _________________ Regards,

Of course I did. The first string in xorg.conf proves it |

And when you confirm that you are able to start those, if you wish to start KDE by using the startx command, you need at least
in your ~/.xinitrc
Or at least that is how I do it. ^^ _________________ Kindest of regardses. |
