Hello there. I ran into some problems when upgrading my gentoo box. I upgraded my kernel using pappy's kernel seeds to 2.6.39 version and I upgraded nvidia driver also to the latest ~amd64 package. I did this when using old kernel 2.6.38. Everything went fine, I even rebuilt my xorg-server without any problems. I rebooted my box and choose new kernel (2.6.39) and upgrade all modules using module-rebuild rebuild (it rebuilt my nvidia-drivers). Now the problem is that I can not start xdm using this new kernel because it says that nvidia module cannot be found. I tried with modprobe nvidia and I got "missing nvidia module" message. When I try to reboot in my old setup everything works fine. What do I do next ? :D
Thanks for your help ;)

Are you sure /usr/src/linux was pointing to the 2.6.39 directory while doing module-rebuild?
Gerard.

Omg you're right. /usr/src/linux is pointing to my old kernel (2.6.38-r1). I'm not sure how I forgot to correct symlink. Thank you for pointing it out. :)
