My Nikon D5000 writes avi files in mjpeg format. After loading these files in avidemux and converting to divx or even mpeg I get a timeshift in any case. Is there anything I can do to avoid this?

On the left of Avidemux' window, under the audio part, you get a check box then the word shift and to its right the value in ms of the shift (positive or negative)
Check the box and fill a value for the shift before encoding.
