ive synced beforehand kuz i just got that machine installed it was a grp based install just incase this helps

I have another problem.
Punkbuster says it's not updated to the latest version.. some guy told me to run pbweb in q3 console but when I did it said: unknown cmd...
How to update this crap so I can play q3 online?
Any ideas?

rm /usr/portage/distfiles/linuxq3apoint-1.32b.x86.run
then
emerge quake3
This should fix your problem there.. Somehow you downloaded a file that doesnt match the hash signature of what it should have been.

Check out the punk buster support page, it explains how to update pb manually. If your running as a normal user, it wont be able to update Pb as you dont have permissions. Try maybe starting quake 3 as root, and see if it updates, other wise check out evenbalance/punkbuster support and they should have another answer if the root thing doesnt cut it.
