Something simple like xclock with the digital flag, only with a transparent background. Any ideas?

Yes, I am aware... but I run neither KDE, or Gnome, and that just seems like it is a bit overboard to display a simple clock... like using a shot gun to kill an ant, or something.
Does anyone know of anything else? I am starting to consider trying to write one with my very limited python skills.

if ya do, post it here or at sorceforge for the rest of us.
I currently use a transparent theme on gkrellm (which shows date/time among other things). Good Luck!
