i'm installing (at least want to...)gentoo on a hdd (hdb) which is already partitioned
i choosed stage3 grp installation, i followed the installation doc and came until 8.6
then "# chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash" says no such file or directory...
swapon done (fdisk says filesystem is set to swap 82)
i mounted my .../dev/hdb1 /mnt/gentoo/usr etc. up to .../dev/hdb9 /mnt/gentoo/tmp.
this were the only differences from the doc, because it was done before
but what can it be with the chroot? there were no errors before.
THANX! |

Maybe you've forgotten to mount /mnt/gentoo to a partition.
Another suggestion is following the installation guide with the partition-scheme, because unless you can find a good reason, you don't need to have that much partitions. It is easy to repartition the hard disk following the installation instructions.
Good luck!
