I'm not positive if this is the same issue I had, since you have some usb sticks that are working properly -- I have only one USB stick I use on my linux box, and it stopped appearing in the device notifier recently.

But if you have installed a new kernel recently, this link might help:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351969

The error message I got when updating sys-fs/udisks was:
CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND: is not set when it should be.

In my kernel config, I had to turn on two options:
Code:

Power management and ACPI options  --->
    Run-time PM core functionality

Device Drivers  --->
    USB support  --->
        USB runtime power management (autosuspend) and wakeup

Then I rebuilt the kernel, and re-emerged sys-fs/udisks. (Of course, I always forget to re-emerge my nvidia-drivers, and KDE didn't start upon reboot!) Hopefully this is the same issue.

Thx - I found out the culprit.
For some reason that device was marked in the device notifier as "hide it".

To unhide however such a device isn't so easy. Do it by :

1. plug in the device
2. double-click at the icon (it might itself be hidden)
3. right click in the empty field of the device notifier
4. select "show hidden devices"
5. now you see that there's already an entry (!) - unselect your drive
6. enjoy
