|

Hello,
I have change my main disk in gentoo server (250GB to 1TB). I have copy main partition with backup-manager and extract it to new disk. I load MBR and now when I boot computer from new disk I have reboot after kernel loading (exactly in moment when should starting daemons - colored [OK] or [ERROR]). One difrence between new and old disk is this that I resign from boot partiton but I configured lilo propertly. I cant find any logs from this problem. Sorry for poor english |

When you say you copied MBR what does it mean exactly? Typically the best way for this is to boot from live CD, chroot into your environment and write lilo, you can do this by following
- boot from live CD
- chroot into your environment (e.g. http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Chroot_from_a_livecd)
- issue /sbin/lilo and if succesfully written reboot and see
You may have done that, but if you don't specify exactly what backup-manager etc it's difficult to guess.

I do exactly what you say - boot my computer from usb, chroot and do "lilo" command. I see lilo menu and I see that my kernel is loading (search devices etc). My computer reboot before moment that on screen should display info about deamon/services starting (I dont see a info "Press I to interactive mode" or someting that). |

Do you now have 2 hard drives physically installed in the pc.
If so I would recommend removing the old one for the moment and reboot with a livecd again and go through the process of installing the MBR again.
There might be some mixup if you were swapping physical drives around as they will be assigned differently from the BIOS. |
